About Me

I am a twenty-something wife and mother who is enjoying every minute of the life she dreamed about as a girl (sorry, a little sappy!).
I met my wonderful future husband, Zack in the summer of 2009 at the University of Washington's campus Catholic church. We both happened to be at an event one of my best friends had coordinated called "Dating Tips for Catholic Singles." And no, neither one of us was there to actually listen to any dating advice. I was helping sell books and Zack had actually run into the speaker of the talk after track practice and offered to help him carry those books I would be selling (sidenote...my husband is an incredibly gifted athlete and threw hammer for the UW Track & Field...look it up if you don't know what it is, I didn't when we first met).

Turns out this guy was my dream come true AND could put up with me...score! He is still has the best (albeit, the perfect amount of immature) sense of humor and we have racked up some pretty cool stories and experiences together.

We dated long distance for a year while I finished nursing school in Colorado. After probably thousands of texts, hundreds of hours on the phone, daily skype dates, a big box full of letters, and 5 trips total to see each other during that year (yes, we really did miss each other that much), I moved back to Seattle and a year and a half later we got married.
Our lives were transformed in June 2012 with the birth of our daughter, Audrey Elizabeth. This little girl has become the love of our lives. She is a constant ball of energy and a smiley, curious, and slightly mischievous little girl. Audrey is the main reason I wanted to start this blog. I feel the need to document all the amazing things that come with the title of "new mom."

In a nutshell...

I could drink Christmas Starbucks drinks everyday (except when I was pregnant, bleh). Someday I will be in the audience at the Ellen DeGeneres Show, but for now I will settle on watching her from my couch. I have an intense love for the Fall and Christmas seasons. If I could, I would spend hours wandering around 'home goods' stores looking for household treasures. I'm a bit OCD about certain things...just ask my husband about how I get annoyed by the way he loads the dishwasher (seriously, everything has a specific place!). But I love to laugh, bake, go on road trips, stay cozy on a rainy day (we have many in Seattle), and go on adventures with my family.
